Located at 1181 Bank Street in Old Ottawa South, the gallery at arts & architecture is dedicated to exhibiting the photographic and photo-based work of Ottawa artists, as well as artists from throughout Canada and the US.

arts & architecture is a relatively new venue located in Old Ottawa South.  Comprising a small gallery, photographic studio and architectural design studio, it is truly a unique and creative undertaking.

Owned and operated by photographer and architect Len Ward, the gallery shows work by emerging and accomplished photographers, with a developing emphasis on local artists.  As our program develops over the coming year, we will also be incorporating related events such as artists’ presentations, seminars and workshops.

The 580 sq. ft. gallery features a 20 ft. glazed storefront facing Bank St (UV/IR filtered).  The space is commercially heated and air conditioned and protected by an electronic security system.  Approximately 500 sq. ft of wall hanging space is supplemented by free-standing panels providing a further 300 sq.ft. of display.  All exhibit surfaces are illuminated by ceiling-mounted track lighting and provided with a flexible, cable-type art hanging system.

The gallery is also equipped with tables, chairs, dish and glassware for events of up to 30 people.  A small kitchenette provides support for receptions and other events involving catering or bar service.  The 400 sq. ft. photo studio can also be used to hang additional work, or to provide support for events held in the gallery itself.  The design studio is equipped with computers, printers, fax, scanner, etc. and can provide support for special events or workshops.
